IDBI Bank has reported a 9.7 per cent dip in Q3 earnings to Rs 410 crore as against Rs 454 crore profit in the same quarter of last year. The bank had to take a hit on its post-tax profit due to one-time provision of Rs 105 crore on account of an aviation account which became non-performing during the December quarter.
Central Bank Q3 net tanks 72%
Affected by higher provisioning for non-performing assets as well as on restructured accounts, Central Bank of India on Tuesday posted a net profit of Rs 113 crore, down 72 per cent year-on-year in the quarter ended December, 2011. Total income during the three months to December 2011 was Rs 5,099 crore, an increase of 22 per cent y-o-y , driven by non-interest income, which rose 42.8 per cent y-o-y to Rs 357 crore as also profit on sale of investments.

PNB Q3 profit up by 5.5 per cent
Hit by higher provisioning towards bad loans and depreciation in investment, Punjab National Bank (PNB) has reported a modest 5.5 per cent growth in net profit at Rs 1,150 crore for the third quarter ended December 31, 2011 as against a net profit of Rs 1,089.77 crore for the October-December quarter of the previous fiscal. The reason for the marginal increase in the net profit was increase in provision against NPAs and depreciation in investment, PNB CMD KR Kamath said.
